چکیده

ABSTRACT Studies on birds and their habitats are usually conducted in natural areas (protected areas, forests, wetlands, etc.). In this study, the relationship between agricultural landscape diversity species of was investigated an zone surrounded by forested areas. Observations were carried out 60 sample grid squares. Presence/absence data for cultivated plants at each site recorded. The Shannon-Wiener index bird metrics used site. A multiple linear regression analysis performed to explain correlation diversity. According results, area-weighted mean shape (AWMSI) number patches (NP) found be particularly effective predicting (R2 = 0.66). addition, as patch ratio increased a area, (R 0.83) expanded. It can concluded that zones consisting small, different rich Bird is lessened with uniform or similar structures large patches. If NP area high, but not distributed mosaic pattern, then considered weak. Despite increasing types, declines if there intense human activity area.

Avian Species and Functional Diversity in Agricultural Landscapes: Does Landscape Heterogeneity Matter?

While the positive relationship between avian diversity and habitat heterogeneity is widely accepted, it is primarily based on observed species richness without accounting for imperfect detection. Other facets of diversity such as functional diversity are also rarely explored. We investigated the avian diversity-landscape heterogeneity relationship in agricultural landscapes by considering two ...

Combined effects of landscape composition and heterogeneity on farmland avian diversity

Conserving biodiversity on farmland is an essential element of worldwide efforts for reversing the global biodiversity decline. Common approaches involve improving the natural component of the landscape by increasing the amount of natural and seminatural habitats (e.g., hedgerows, woodlots, and ponds) or improving the production component of the landscape by increasing the amount of biodiversit...

Functional landscape heterogeneity and animal biodiversity in agricultural landscapes.

Biodiversity in agricultural landscapes can be increased with conversion of some production lands into 'more-natural'- unmanaged or extensively managed - lands. However, it remains unknown to what extent biodiversity can be enhanced by altering landscape pattern without reducing agricultural production. We propose a framework for this problem, considering separately compositional heterogeneity ...

Interactions between dispersal, competition, and landscape heterogeneity

It is widely acknowledged that space has an important role in population regulation, yet more specific knowledge into how the relevant factors interact attains little consensus. We address this issue via a stochastic, individual based model of population dynamics, in a continuous space continuous time framework. We represent habitat quality as a continuously varying surface over the two-dimensi...
